When Stratum Dermatology Clinics opened their clinic in Wimbledon the aim was, and will always be, to help patients with all forms of skin issues, to offer care only under the direct supervision of fully accredited specialists, to centre the practice around the patients, to offer clear and constructive advice on acne and acne scarring treatment options and to plan, when appropriate, a personalised treatment programme. We are dedicated only to dermatology. As part of this, we see a lot of patients who struggle with acne. All of our dermatologists can treat acne, but we have recently launched a dedicated acne treatment programme at our Wimbledon Dermatology Clinic.

There are a wide range of acne treatments available at our Wimbledon acne clinic, depending on the severity and location of your acne. Your expert consultant dermatologist will explain all of your acne treatment options and help you to decide the best acne treatment programme for you. The first line of treating your acne is usually to suppress the inflammation. Treatment may involve lotions or tablets such as antibiotics or hormone suppression. These treatments work by either reducing the number of bacteria on the skin or removing dead skin cells which help to unblock hair follicles which have become plugged.

In more severe, chronic cases of acne where the symptoms have persisted over time, we offer a range of treatments to help both acne and acne scars, including microdermabrasion, laser acne treatments, microneedling, and Dermalux LED Phototherapy. Combined, these treatments are used to help reduce acne inflammation and speed up the skin rejuvenation process through inducing collagen reproduction that helps to heal the skin quicker. Collagen will smooth out the acne scarring tissue, and reduce inflamed blemishes. These acne scarring treatments can show fast results and often work together to improve your skin over time.
