If you are worried about your acne and not sure what to do, we can help.

Our dermatology experts at Stratum Dermatology Clinics have a wealth of experience in the management of all types of acne in both children and adults, as well as the assessment and treatment of acne scarring.

We help hundreds of acne patients across the UK and we pride ourselves on our successful and comprehensive range of treatments, allowing you to choose what’s best for you to clear your skin and regain your confidence. During your assessment our specialists will advise on the most appropriate acne treatment option for you.

There are a wide range of acne treatments available Stratum Dermatology Clinics depending on the severity and location of your acne. We will often recommend a staged approach over a period of time, where each stage will produce an incremental enhancement which together will produce a worthwhile, sustained improvement.

Your first step is to have an assessment with one of our clinical team. They will review your acne and present the best course of treatment for you. This ranges from skin health treatments designed to improve acne to an appointment with a consultant dermatologist.

The severity of your acne will determine the best course of treatment.

We have three acne clinics for you to choose from:

Stratum Dermatology Clinic Oxford

Stratum Dermatology Clinic Cheltenham

Stratum Dermatology Clinic Wimbledon and Raynes Park

Provide your information below and a member of the team will call you to discuss your assessment.

What happens after my assessment?

A member of the team will call you to discuss your results. They will then arrange the best course of treatment. This ranges from meeting with nurses or therapists for specialist treatment to an appointment with a consultant dermatologist who will be able to prescribe the right course of treatment for you.

Is the assessment really free?

Many patients needlessly suffer with acne because they don’t know the best course of the treatment for them. They often try solutions that aren’t appropriate.
During our assessment, a specialist will review your condition and then recommend the best course of treatment for you.

Do I have to have the treatment?

Being seen by a specialist at a dermatology clinic is the most effective way to treat your acne, but there is no obligation following your assessment. If you don’t want to continue your treatment, please let a member of the team know when they speak to you.

Will acne go away on its own?

Acne affects most people at some point during their lives and will usually go away on its own, usually during teenage years. If acne is still prevalent in adulthood, treatment may be needed to help to control acne or to help reduce acne scarring.

Can acne be cured?

Yes it can. Whilst most cases of acne get better over time, for more sever disease that hasn’t responded well to medical measures, a cure is a possibility. Stronger medications can bring about permanent resolution in many cases of acne so if you are concerned about your acne, get in touch today.

Are acne scars permanent?

Scars are part of the skin’s natural healing process after it has been damaged and in the case of acne, are caused by picking at spots on the face. Most acne scars will fade on their own, however for persistent scarring, we offer a range of treatments to reduce the appearance of scarring such as fractional laser resurfacing and medical skin needling.

What can I do to help my acne?

Things you can do yourself to help clear up acne include:

Washing the face once or twice a day with a mild soap and warm water. It is important not to over wash the face as this can irritate the skin.

Wash your hair regularly and keep it off your face

Try not to wear too much make up and make sure it is completely removed before going to bed.
