Linda Barbaste Harrison Staff headshot

Dr Linda Barbaste-Harrison

Consultant in Vascular Medicine

Dr Linda was born in Switzerland in an English family and was brought up in France where she qualified as a Doctor in General Medicine and Vascular Pathology in 1985.

She has been practising first as a locum at St Philibert University Hospital near Lille then in private practice in Calais and Saint Omer (France) since 1989. She has been registered with the GMC since 2004 and has worked as a Vascular Consultant in London and currently in Canterbury (Kent).

As a vascular Doctor, she is trained in Phlebology, treatments of varicose veins, leg thread veins and ulcers by sclerotherapy, microsclerotherapy and Foam Echo-sclerotherapy. She is an expert in vascular duplex scan examination which is necessary to assess the patient’s vein status, before providing a bespoke treatment plan which may require initial treatment of larger and deeper varicose veins before addressing thread veins.

Besides her work, Dr Linda enjoys playing golf, skiing, listening to classical music and cooking.

Dr Daly studied medicine and completed postgraduate research at the University of Cambridge. She has worked at many teaching hospitals including Addenbrooke’s, King’s College and Guy’s and St. Thomas’ and has recently published a Dermatology handbook for trainee doctors and GPs.

During her specialist training she won the prestigious St. John’s Society Registrar prize and was a co-investigator in clinical research trials at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ hospital. Dr Daly has published numerous scientific papers, editorials and review articles and continues to carry out clinical research with a particular interest in dermatomyositis.

As well as being a Consultant Dermatologist with us at Canterbury Skin and Laser, Dr Daly practices at our partner clinic The Harley Street Dermatology Clinic. Dr Daly also holds a Consultant post at the NHS Lewisham and Greenwich Trust in South London where she was previously Lead Clinician and the head of teaching for undergraduate medical students.

Dr Daly consults on all aspects of skin disease in both adults and children and can perform surgical procedures. She can treat conditions such as acne, eczema, allergy, psoriasis, rosacea, stubborn warts and verrucae, emergency dermatology, and skin cancer. Her special interests include acne and rosacea, skin infections, emergency dermatology, connective tissue disease/dermatomyositis, skin cancer, moles and the use of biologics in psoriasis.

Dr Alice Hudson-Peacock is winner of the Silver Award for Aesthetic Practitioner of the Year at The Kent Health and Beauty Awards 2016. She held the position of Specialty Doctor in Dermatology to the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust until January 2014, but currently only works as an Aesthetic Doctor and as the Managing Director of the Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic.

She has many years of experience in providing laser and cosmetic wrinkle treatments.

Dr Alice regularly attends Master Classes and Conferences both in the U.K. and abroad; most recently, she was invited to the World Congress in Anti-ageing Medicine in Monaco.
Dr Alice has been providing laser treatments for skin conditions since 1997. She was a founder and Managing Director of Chaucer Laser Services, which was set up in the local private Chaucer hospital in March 1997.

Due to significant expansion in the number of lasers used for various skin indications, the service was moved to new premises in Castle Street in 2004, when the name of the service was changed to The Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic.

Her ethos is to provide an honest medical opinion and to achieve the most pleasing outcomes in a cost-effective way. By combining her experience in Clinical Dermatology and her vast experience of all types of cosmetic treatments, she is an expert in skin assessments and is able to give and provide a complete aesthetic solution for her client’s needs.
She has particular expertise in non-surgical rejuvenation of the face, hands and the décolletage.

Dr Mark and Dr Alice have been married since March 1987. They met during their medical school training in the University of Wales College of Medicine. They have one son, Nathan, who has just graduated from medical school in Christ’s College, Cambridge. They enjoy all genres of music, especially classical music, travelling to all the exciting places in the world, theatre going and are enthusiastic foodies.

Dr Hudson-Peacock was the Senior Consultant Dermatologist in the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, a post he held from January 1996 until January 2014, when he left to focus his energy to bring a new medical treatment to the NHS. He is a general dermatologist with specialist interest in skin and laser surgery.

Dr Hudson-Peacock graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine (UWCM) in 1987, having gained a degree in biochemistry in 1984. He was awarded the first Geoffrey Hodgson dermatology prize to be awarded by the UWCM, and this inspired him to follow dermatology as his career choice. He gained his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in March 1990 and was awarded his fellowship from the same college (FRCP) in 2000. He gained further training in dermatological and laser surgery in Europe and North America, and specific training in the art of sclerotherapy in Toronto.

He regularly lectures on a variety of dermatological subjects and has presented work both nationally and internationally. His main clinical interest is the management of skin cancer using surgery and laser applications. He is passionate about providing the best cosmetic result in a surgical procedure. His neat surgical results have been appreciated by many patients over the years.

Dr Hudson-Peacock established his private dermatological and laser practice at The Chaucer Hospital in Canterbury in 1996. He then expanded into the Spencer Wing based in the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.

With the practice continuing to grow as demand for skin and cosmetic treatments increased, he acquired a newly refurbished building in Castle Street in Canterbury, which continues to offer a comfortable environment in which to provide modern and comprehensive skin care, unique to this part of Kent. This now well-established clinic continues to be the only specialist Dermatology and Laser clinic in East Kent.

Dr Sandra was born in the Czech Republic. She qualified as a doctor in general medicine in 2004 and has been a dermatologist since then. She took a keen interest in aesthetic dermatology early during her studies at University while she was working as an assistant in her mother’s private aesthetic clinic.

She was trained in the application of dermal fillers, chemical peels, mesotherapy and lipolysis during the years 2004-2007. Since that time, she has participated in a lot of aesthetic sessions, congresses and courses. At the moment she also works as a Speciality Doctor in Dermatology at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital.

Besides her work, she does a lot of sports and loves traveling. She has been involved in aesthetic treatments and assessments for a long time and aims to provide a bespoke treatment plan for every client to ensure that they achieve a result they desire. By using an individual approach, with detailed explanation of the treatment and by really understanding her client’s expectations, these form the key points in her approach to achieving the best aesthetic result for her client.

Dr Emilia Duarte Williamson

Dr Emilia Duarte Williamson is based at Kings College London and holds clinics at Canterbury Skin and Laser on Saturdays. Dr Duarte Williamson is a very experienced consultant with specialist interests in Paediatric Dermatology, Medical dermatology and skin cancer.

Dr Williamson graduated from medical school in her home country of Colombia in South America in 1987. She worked as a Hospital Doctor in General Medicine, Paediatrics and Accident and Emergency for 8 years before entering the Dermatology training programme. She trained as a specialist in Dermatology in Bogota - Colombia from 1996 and worked as a Dermatology consultant for 4 and a half years before moving to the UK.

Dr Williamson has worked in the UK since 2005 year when she got her full GMC registration after passing the English and Medical exams (IELTS and PLABS). She has worked in different hospitals as a locum consultant and was appointed to a substantive position as Consultant in Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey in January 2008.

She has been working with the British association of Dermatologist in the therapeutic and guidelines committee since December 2011. She is also interested in teaching GP colleagues, registrars and other junior doctors.

Vicky Judge

Vicky is part of the Aesthetic team at the Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic. Having trained at Thanet College in Broadstairs, in 2005 she achieved her NVQ Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy & Management, also being recognised as Student of the Year.

Not one to let the grass grow under her feet, Vicky has since gained additional qualifications in providing medical microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, electrolysis, RF skin tightening and body contouring treatments, chemical peels and Hopi ear candle treatments.

2009 saw Vicky working for Steiner on the Azamara Quest cruise liner, travelling to many exotic places and performing Ionithermie and Elemis treatments in the spa.

Vicky is highly skilled in skin care treatments and will customise the treatments to her client’s individual needs. She also works alongside Dr Alice Hudson-Peacock to provide pre and post procedural skin care and advice. Specialising in corrective skin care for acne-prone skin, pigmentation abnormalities and evening-out skin tone and texture, Vicky loves to educate her clients on how to properly care for their own skin so as to maintain the benefits of their skin care treatments.

In her spare time Vicky enjoys keeping fit, socialising with friends, reading and looking after her young niece and nephews. She looks forward to challenges and setting new goals to succeed. Vicky enjoys meeting new people and says, “I always aim to make each person feel good and happy with their visits to the clinic.”

Desa Radojevic

Beauty Therapist/Aesthetician

Desa Radojevic is a trained Aesthetic Therapist and also Assistant to Consultant Dermatologist, Dr Mark Hudson Peacock.

She has a very unique way of interacting with our patients, making them feel extremely valued. She spends a great deal of time explaining various products and treatments to them thus ensuring they have as much information as possible, so that they undergo their treatments feeling secure in the knowledge that they are receiving the best professional care.
Desa studied Beauty Therapy at Canterbury College, where she gained her NVQs Level 2 and 3 in 1997. She has since worked within the aesthetics profession and is qualified to perform “NLite” laser treatment, Chemical Peels, Medical Microdermabrasion, Skin Tightening using the Radio Frequency “Exilis Elite” device and bespoke prescriptive facial treatments and electrolysis.

She works alongside Dr Alice Hudson-Peacock to provide pre and post procedure skin care treatments and to advise on continued skin care maintenance programmes.
Her main areas of interest lie in skin rejuvenation procedures to achieve perfect skin. These include the treatment of acne prone skin, acne scarring, and other skin conditions such as skin pigmentation and rosacea. Desa exudes warmth and compassion and is exceptionally witty and fun. She is an incredibly dedicated and ambitious colleague who is an absolute pleasure to work with – a great addition to our team. She is bound to put a smile on your face.

Desa says “Never under-estimate the importance of skin rejuvenation. That is why every bespoke treatment targets skin ageing as well as skin health. Because each client is unique there is no ‘one-size fits all’ approach.” When not working, Desa likes to keep fit with Pilates, walking her Bischon Frise, and still finds time to run around after her two boys.

Julia arrives at Canterbury Skin and Laser Clinic as a fully trained therapist with over 22 years of experience in the laser, skin and beauty profession, having previously worked as a manager in busy clinics in Chiswick and Perth, Australia./b>

With more than 15 years of experience using lasers, Julia is experienced in laser hair removal treatments, vascular laser therapy, NLite collagen replenishment and acne therapy. She also provides electrolysis to complement laser hair removal and RF skin tightening and body contouring treatments. Julia is passionate about skin care and has comprehensive skill in providing skin peels, microdermabrasion together with in depth knowledge on product ranges such as SkinCeuticals, Medik8, SkinMedica, Heliocare, Environ and Clarins amongst others. Being a fully qualified beauty therapy teacher with a Cert Ed from East Kent College in 2005, she is able to offer you her experience and knowledge in her treatments.

Julia has achieved great results with a following to prove it. She is known for giving her patients amazing skin treatments with lasting, beautiful results. As a specialist in her field, a consultation will not only address concerns, but also lead you in the right direction to get the most results both in the clinic and at home. She is able to create a number of personalised treatments that are customised towards each individual client, from anti-aging to working with teens and adults on acne related issues.

Kären has a passion about skin care and wanted to be able to provide a service to assist people to look and feel good. She is a qualified Nurse and Midwife and has over 15 years of experience within the medical profession.

Her training as an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner was led by one of Harley Streets top plastic surgeons Adrian Richards, in the techniques and application of dermal fillers. She has a good knowledge of cosmeceutical products and their use, which compliments the above treatments. In pursuit of being able to provide an holistic approach to skin care she has also been trained by one of the world’s leading manufacturers of light base aesthetic treatments, Cynosure, enabling the treatment of hair removal and vascular lesions.

Passionate about all aspects of skincare and Kären offer my clients an holistic evidence based service. I work on the philosophy that honesty is the best policy and will always try to achieve the best possible realistic pleasing results for my clients.

Throughout my medical career I have always strived to make a positive difference to my patients/clients, I want clients to leave my consulting room with a big smile on their face, feeling and looking good.

In her spare time, she sings in a local choir and with them performs in several concerts a year. She comes from a musical background and has family members leading and playing in a local brass band which she enjoys listening to. Dr Walker is the clinical lead for Stratum Clinics Oxford and is an Honorary Consultant Dermatologist, Department of Dermatology, Churchill Hospital, Oxford.

Dr Walker graduated from Westminster Medical School, University of London in 1975. After completing a general medical training, he specialised in Dermatology, training in Cambridge and including a year as Fellow in Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio, USA. He has been on the Specialist Register since May 1984.

Dr Walker pioneered both micrographic (Mohs) surgery and laser surgery in the UK and maintains an active interest in both these areas. These interests mean a significant part of his practice is the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of skin cancer. Lasers have many applications in the aesthetic aspects of dermatology and this too forms an important part of the practice as well as the use of lasers for treating birthmarks and other skin conditions.

Dr Arnold completed her medical degree in 2005, with Honours, from the University of Sydney, Australia. She commenced specialist training in Dermatology in 2008, at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney.

Dr Arnold was awarded the Australasian College of Dermatologists Travelling Fellowship and moved to the Churchill Hospital Oxford, in 2011, where she worked as a Dermatology registrar for three years, including a year spent in Dermatopathology research.

Dr Arnold completed Dermatology training in 2014 in Sydney at St Vincent’s Hospital and The Skin and Cancer Foundation. She passed the challenging Australasian College of Dermatologists Fellowship exams in August of that year and received a scholarship to the American Academy of Dermatology 2015 meeting in recognition of her outstanding results.

Dr Arnold is a general Dermatologist with a broad range of interests including skin cancer diagnosis and surgery, medical dermatology, vulval dermatology and dermatopathology.

Sarah Coles Consultant Dermatologist

Dr Sarah Coles

Chartered Clinical Psychologist

Dr Coles is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, a member of the Division of Clinical Psychology, a fellow of the British Psychological Society as well as a member of the Health Professionals Council. She is also a qualified Systemic Psychotherapist (Family Therapist).

She studied Psychology at the University of Liverpool before working in the NHS as a Research and Assistant Clinical Psychologist. She completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London in 2008. She has worked in the NHS for over 13 years NHS in a range of clinical settings including with children and young people, older adults, and people with Intellectual Disabilities around a wide range of clinical issues including adjustment to diagnoses, and long-term health conditions.

Dr Coles has 8-years post-qualification experience working in the NHS as a chartered Clinical Psychologist in Oxfordshire for individuals, groups, families and staff teams. She provides teaching to Southampton, Oxford and Salomon’s Clinical Psychology Doctoral Courses. She regularly supervises others and receives supervision on both her private and NHS work.

She works using a range of talking therapies including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic psychotherapy, and Narrative approaches. She believes in important to work alongside her clients to gain a shared understanding and approach to difficulties, tailoring interventions to meet the individual needs and preferences of her clients.

Dr Coles has a special interest in systemic models of working and completed her post-graduate diploma in applied systemic practice in June 2013. She is now undertaking a Masters in Systemic Psychotherapy.

Mr Hickey studied Medicine at the University of Birmingham, graduating in 1984 with the Sampson Gamgee Memorial Prize in Surgery. He began performing vascular duplex ultrasound at the Selly Oak vascular laboratory (1988-90).

Surgical training continued in General and Vascular Surgery in Worcester and Stourbridge and was then appointed a Lecturer in the University of Birmingham, with specialist training in Vascular Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth and Selly Oak Hospitals. He was awarded a travelling fellowship by the Royal College of Surgeons to obtain further specialist training in the USA at Harvard University.

Mr Hickey introduced the techniques of Micro-Phlebectomy and PIN-Stripping to Worcestershire. He performed and published studies that demonstrated that the use of tourniquets reduced bleeding and bruising associated with surgery and that the use of pre-operative local anaesthetic infiltration reduced operative bleeding and postoperative pain. Mr Hickey also introduced micro-sclerotherapy for thread veins and small varicose veins and continue to offer this technique in his outpatient clinic. In 2003, he began performing Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy, Radiofrequency Ablation in 2004 and a year later Endovenous Laser Ablation.

Mr Hickey has an interest in Endovenous Laser Ablation and regularly trains consultants from all over the country in this technique. 5 years ago, he introduced the Biolitec ‘Painless’ Laser, further refining the procedure, reducing post-operative discomfort and speeding up recovery. The vast majority of patients with varicose veins can now be assessed in a one-stop outpatient clinic and treated with minimally-invasive endovenous interventions under local anaesthetic in an ambulatory setting.

Mr Hickey has special interests in all venous problems and Colour venous duplex ultrasound imaging, Endovenous Laser Ablation, Endovenous Radiofrequency Ablation (Venefit, previously VNUS Closure), Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy, Microinjection Sclerotherapy and Minimally invasive Varicose Vein Surgery.

Mr Norris trained in Yorkshire before undergoing Fellowship training at the prestigious Corneo-Plastic Unit in East Grinstead. He specialises in all aspects of eyelid surgery including eyelid lesion removal (moles, skin tags etc), eyelid skin cancer and reconstructive surgery. His other interests include facial palsy (relating to the eye), lacrimal (tear duct) surgery, artificial eyes, thyroid eye disease and orbital surgery. He has written a number of research papers relating to oculoplastic surgery.

Mr Norris is currently a Fellow of the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and is undertaking an MSc at Oxford University in Surgical Science.

Dr Perkins is a Consultant Dermatologist at Stratum Clinics. He also practises at the Churchill Hospital and is Oxford University Hospitals lead for Mohs micrographic surgery.

Dr Perkins graduated from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne medical school 1984. He completed training in dermatology in Glasgow and Southampton before fellowship training in skin cancer and micrographic (Mohs') surgery at the University of Minnesota.

Consultant and lead for skin cancer at Nottingham University Hospitals until 2014 when he moved to Oxford University Hospitals to lead the Mohs’ service at the Churchill Hospital.

He has been on the specialist register since 1995. Dr Perkins has specialist interests in skin cancer, lasers and micrographic (Mohs') surgery. He continues to see patients with the full range of skin diseases and has been involved in the development of treatment for both hyperhidrosis and cosmetic indications.

Nicola Petrie at Stratum Oxford Clinic

Miss Nicola Petrie

Consultant Plastic Surgeon

Miss Petrie is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Stratum Clinics. She also practises at Nuffield Health, The Manor Hospital, Oxford and was appointed Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Great Western Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2013.

She graduated from the University of Bristol, became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and completed her training in all aspects of Plastic Surgery in London, Chelmsford, Salisbury, Stoke Mandeville, Oxford, Boston (USA), Auckland (NZ) and Lyon (France).

She has undertaken specialist Fellowships in breast reconstruction, skin cancer surgery and aesthetic surgery and sits on the multidisciplinary panel for both skin cancer and breast surgery. Miss Petrie is registered with the GMC and is on the specialist register for plastic and reconstructive surgery. She is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and the Melanoma Study Group.

Miss Petrie has special interest in Breast Surgery, Cosmetic Breast Surgery, Aesthetic Breast Surgery, Oncoplastic Surgery, and Body Contouring.

Matt Potter - Consultant Dermatologist at Oxford Stratum Dermatology Clinic

Mr Potter is a UK-trained Plastic Surgeon. He qualified as a doctor in 1997 and gained his membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2001. He passed his Plastic Surgical exams (FRCS Plast) in 2009.

He has been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon from 2012. He practises at Stratum Clinics and his principal NHS Practice is at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust. His training in Plastic Surgery has been in London, Oxford and Australia. Mr Potter spent the last two years of his training within the UK and Australia learning advanced techniques in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

Cristina Ucci is an Aesthetic Therapist at Stratum Clinics with over ten years expertise in the industry. Her clinic at Stratum specialises in a multitude of different skin conditions and concerns.

Cristina uses a wide variety of Laser machines for aesthetic and medical purposes including Alexandrite, YAG, Fraxel, Intense Pulsed Light and Radio Frequency.

These techniques are used for multiple applications including; assisted hair removal for gender reassignment and conditions such as Hirsutism, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and Pilonidal Sinus, the reduction and removal of Sun Damage, Solar Lentigines, High Colour (redness) broken blood vessels. Cristina also uses Fraxel and Radio Frequency machines to improve scars, acne scarring, fine lines/wrinkles and over all skin tightening and anti-ageing treatments.

Prior to joining Stratum in 2014, Cristina was the in-house and national trainer for Ellipse Ltd. and Venus Concept. Cristina travelled around the UK and Ireland teaching Aesthetic Therapists, Nurses and Dermatologists how to use and get the best results from IPL, Laser and Radio Frequency machines.

Cristina is very proud that during her time as a national trainer she taught IPL and Laser to a number College Lecturers that were setting up NVQ Level 4 qualifications to further students who wanted to progress in the Aesthetic Industry.

Dr Gorav Wali obtained his medical degree from Oxford University graduating with 1st Class Honours in Medical Sciences. Lisa’s qualifications include: CSEs & ‘O’ levels in English Literature, Language, History, Biology, Geography, Home Economics, French & Art. Lisa began her career as a junior secretarial assistant for Oxford Regional Health Authority before moving to The Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford.

She worked in a number of specialities as an auxiliary nursing assistant, medical secretary and private & overseas officer in Neurosurgery, Neurology, Orthopaedics & Ophthalmology. She then left to become practice manager for a Neurosurgeon spending 6 years at the Manor Hospital, Oxford. Her final position before joining Stratum was at the Oxford Cancer Centre for Upper GI & Bariatric Surgery as a personal assistant to a General Surgeon.

In 1999 she completed with distinction British Society of Medical Secretaries exam. In both 2016 and 2017 she was nominated for Oxford University Hospitals Foundation Trust Staff Recognition Awards – Care & Compassion. When not working she enjoys experimenting with home baking and also traveling in the UK and abroad. She is currently working on the new patient experience and developing ways to improve the patient pathway.

Louise trained as a Registered Nurse at St Thomas’ Hospital, London and then studied midwifery in Winchester. She worked abroad for a few years before returning to the UK. She joined the staff of a Private Hospital in Surrey, first as a Theatre Sister and then Theatre Manager.

After relocating to Oxfordshire in 2007 Louise started working with Dr Neil Walker and Dr Jackie Walker running the Laser Clinic at the Manor Hospital, Oxford. In early 2012 Louise became the Project Manager for the development of the new Stratum Clinic in Oxford and was appointed Clinic Manager as the project came to fruition. Dr Victoria Akhras is a UK-trained consultant dermatologist. As well as having expertise in general dermatology, she is the lead clinician in one of the largest skin cancer screening and treatment centres in the UK. Dr Akhras is actively involved in dermatological research and has set up the Skin Tumour Tissue Research Centre at St George's Hospital, where her NHS practise is based.

Dr Akhras studied Medicine at Imperial College London and graduated in 2000 with honours. She has trained in a number of teaching hospitals in London including Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Barts and The London NHS Trust, Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Awarded a travelling fellowship, Dr Akhras has spent time at the Sydney Melanoma Unit in Australia. In 2010, she completed a research project looking at lymphatic function and its role in the spread of melanoma, for which she was awarded an MD.

She studied Psychology at the University of Liverpool before working in the NHS as a Research and Assistant Clinical Psychologist. She completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London in 2008. She has worked in the NHS for over 13 years NHS in a range of clinical settings including with children and young people, older adults, and people with Intellectual Disabilities around a wide range of clinical issues including adjustment to diagnoses, and long-term health conditions.

Dr Coles has 8-years post-qualification experience working in the NHS as a chartered Clinical Psychologist in Oxfordshire for individuals, groups, families and staff teams. She provides teaching to Southampton, Oxford and Salomon’s Clinical Psychology Doctoral Courses. She regularly supervises others and receives supervision on both her private and NHS work.

She works using a range of talking therapies including; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic psychotherapy, and Narrative approaches. During her specialist training she won the prestigious St. John’s Society Registrar prize and was a co-investigator in clinical research trials at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ hospital. Dr Daly has published numerous scientific papers, editorials and review articles and continues to carry out clinical research with a particular interest in dermatomyositis.

As well as being a Consultant Dermatologist with us at Canterbury Skin and Laser, Dr Daly practices at our partner clinic The Harley Street Dermatology Clinic. Dr Daly also holds a Consultant post at the NHS Lewisham and Greenwich Trust in South London where she was previously Lead Clinician and the head of teaching for undergraduate medical students.

Her dermatology training included a PhD study at QMUL exploring the early changes in skin cancer development and impact of common treatments. In 2008, he was appointed as the teaching fellow for Queen Mary University of London. He was one of the many teachers responsible for educating aspiring doctors from different parts of the world (including Australia, Africa, New York and Hong Kong) who studied for the postgraduate diploma in clinical dermatology. He was an examiner for the undergraduate final year medical students, as well as given clinical teaching and lectures, in particular, acne and eczema.

Dr Alvin Lee was trained in Wessex, worked most closely with the University Hospital Southampton, a tertiary referral centre for dermatology in the region. Apart from general dermatology, he received in-depth and extensive training in advance cutaneous surgery, dermatopathology, atopic eczema, psoriasis, cutaneous lymphoma and paediatric dermatology. Dr Proudfoot was then selected for a prestigious fellowship in paediatric dermatology at the Ann and Robert H. Actively involved in clinical research and teaching, Dr Rajpara has given over 50 national and international presentations and invited talks and has published more than 20 articles. He has been on channel 4 body shockers programme and has been a faculty for British Medical Laser Association and for Laser and Aesthetics Europe.

He has been involved in updating SIGN melanoma guidelines and also was in Scottish Cosmetic Interventions Group- High Quality care subgroup (HQC SCIEG) for guidelines for regulations of non-surgical cosmetic treatments in the Scotland. Dr Aisling Ryan is a UK-trained Consultant Dermatologist. She studied Medicine at University College Cork, Ireland and graduated with Honours in 2004. Dr Ryan has worked at many of London’s teaching hospitals including King’s College NHS Foundation Trust, Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Bart’s Health NHS Trust, The Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust, and St. George’s NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Ryan has an interest in medical therapeutics & complex medical dermatology. She undertook a year-long Medical Dermatology Fellowship (treating severe psoriasis, eczema, hidradenitis, and immunobullous disease) at St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2012.

As well as working at The Harley Street Dermatology Clinic, Dr Ryan works as an NHS Consultant at King’s College NHS Foundation Trust. Celia completed her Masters in dermatology skills and treatments in 2017 and is experienced in dermatascopy, skin lesion recognition and minor surgery.

Celia is also able to help patients with hyperhidrosis management through iontophoresis and other treatments; injections for alopecia and keloid scaring; DPC for warts and alopecia; and phlebotomy.

Sarah has been Practice Manager and Care Quality Commission registered manager at The Harley Street Dermatology Clinic since 2014. Before working at the Harley Street Dermatology Clinic in London, Sarah worked for AXA PPP healthcare for four years in customer service and finance roles.

She has a degree in business administration and finance from The University of Brighton.

Sarah has been part of team that has seen the Harley Street Dermatology Clinic grow from three consultants to fourteen consultant dermatologists, a skin psychologist, three dermatology nurse experts, a physicians’ assistant as well as five administrators.

Her vision is to create the best patient journey possible. For example, in 2017 a clinical psychologist joined the team, recognising the mental impact skin disease can have for some people. In 2018, Sarah oversaw the launch of nurse led services to complement the dermatology consultations and created an in-house operating theatre, driven by the motivation to improve the patient journey and have the capability to care for patients from start to end without needing to delay treatment by referring elsewhere.

The clinical services at the Harley Street Dermatology Clinic continue to grow and now includes phototherapy UVA/B, photodynamic therapy, patch testing and blood tests. In the pursuit of clinical excellence, the clinic has also developed its modern operating theatre for minor, intermediate and major skin surgery requirements along with an on-site Moh’s lab for micrographic surgery.

Dr Jana is the Clinical Lead at Stratum Clinics Wimbledon and Raynes Park. He is also a Consultant Dermatologist at Kingston Hospital, appointed in 2011. He developed the dermatology service at Kingston and Raynes Park Health Centre and Community sites with excellent patient feedback.

He trained at Imperial College London and graduated in 2002, having gained a first-class Neuroscience BSc in 1999. He has had the unique opportunity to have worked in several excellent dermatology units including Amersham Hospital and King's College Hospital. He trained locally on the St George's/St Helier's/Kingston dermatology rotation.

Throughout his training he has won several prizes at the Royal Society of Medicine and the British Association of Dermatologists Annual Conference. He actively teaches dermatology to undergraduates and postgraduates and is involved in GP education with organising a GP skin club. He is currently the South London British Association of Dermatology Regional representative and is the co-editor of the Clinical and Experimental Dermatology Journal.

Dr Natkunarajah is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He is Educational Supervisor at Kingston for the Dermatology Trainees (2011- 2017).

Mr. Ben Ardehali is a fully accredited consultant plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgeon with over 10 years of highly specialised training. He is on the Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery with the General Medical Council.

He qualified from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School at Imperial College London in 1999 with a Distinction in Anatomy and completed his general surgical training at the Hammersmith Hospital training programme in London in 2004 to become a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England MRCS.

After completing his higher surgical training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery in London he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeon of England FRCS.
His interest includes cancer reconstruction, general plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery. He has completed a fellowship in cosmetic surgery at the renowned London Clinic and has a higher degree in cosmetic surgery from the University of London. He has also undertaken a fellowship in microvascular surgery at Charing Cross Hospital in London.

His research interest is in the area of objective assessment of outcome in plastic surgery. This has led to numerous presentations both at national and international level along with publications in peer-reviewed plastic surgical literature.

He has a Masters degree in Surgical Sciences from the University of Oxford with a primary focus on patient safety and quality improvement in health care.

Dr Nisha Rishi Arujuna

Dr Nisha Rishi Arujuna is a Consultant Dermatologist at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and is also an Honorary Consultant Dermatologist at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Nisha graduated with a distinction from King’s College London School of Medicine (KCLSoM) in 2010. She has since completed her dermatology training in Sussex, at the Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust. During this time, she was awarded a travel fellowship to undertake a period of study in photodermatology at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology.

Nisha was awarded the John Henry Wignall Prize in 2006 for outstanding achievement in medicine and the KCLSoM Elective Travel Award in 2009 to work at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Borneo. In 2016, Nisha won the prestigious Ashley Cooper Award given by the British Society of Dermatological Surgery for presenting the novel concept of introducing a dermatology surgery consent photo booklet.

Nisha is an active member of the British Association of Dermatologists, has presented regularly at their annual national conferences and also participates in the American Academy of Dermatologists meetings. She has authored several international publications in her specialty field in peer-reviewed journals.

Clinical Interests

Nisha’s special interest is in photodermatology and she is developing the phototherapy services and photodermatoses management locally, collaborating with the photodermatology team at the St John’s Institute of Dermatology. She performs dermatology surgery and also enjoys the management of medical dermatological cases. She has a passion for teaching and this has been corroborated by her being awarded as Teacher of the Year.

Dr Arani Chandrakumar

Dr Arani Chandrakumar works as a Consultant Dermatologist at Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust in Surrey. She is currently Clinical Lead in Dermatology at the Trust.
Dr Chandrakumar studied Medicine at the University of Cambridge where she achieved a 1st class BA degree for her third year in Biological Anthropology, and subsequently completed her clinical training at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.
She undertook the Senior House Officer medical rotation at Addenbrookes Hospital and then moved to London where she continued to work in medical specialties as a junior doctor before embarking on her Dermatology Specialist Registrar training at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and University College Hospital London.
She became a Consultant Dermatologist at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals in February of 2013 and remains there to date. During this time, she has taken roles such as Lead in Paediatric Dermatology as well as Skin Cancer Lead, before becoming Clinical Lead.
Dr Chandrakumar works as a reviewer for the Editorial Team of the Oxford Medical Case Reports Journal. She previously co-wrote the Dermatology chapter for the Oxford Desk Reference: Acute Medicine guide book. She has contributed to the dermatology chapter in 4th edition of Medicine at a Glance.
Dr Chandrakumar is happy to see general dermatology, skin lesions, paediatric dermatology, and perform simple skin surgery.

Dr Abigail Fogo

Dr Fogo is a Consultant Dermatologist at Stratum Clinics and she also practises at the Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust where she is the Clinical Lead for Research and Development and Paediatric Dermatology.

Dr Fogo graduated with a distinction from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2004 and she was awarded the David Reeve and Herbert Patterson Prizes for outstanding academic achievement in 2000 and the Brackenbury, Bourne and Magdalen Hughes Scholarship in Medicine in 2004. She has a first class honours degree in Biochemistry and Genetics from Nottingham University, 1999.

She is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and has published in her specialty field in several peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Victoria Hogarth

Dr Hogarth is a Consultant Dermatologist with a special interest in General Dermatology, Acne and Eczema.

She undertook her pre-clinical training at Cambridge University where she was awarded the Fulford Scholarship and completed her clinical training at Oxford University. She also undertook the prestigious Academic Foundation Training in Oxford. Dr Hogarth then moved to London to complete her dermatology training. Her Specialist Training in Dermatology was completed at several centres of excellence including The Royal Free Hospital, The Royal London Hospital and Kings College Hospital.

Dr Hogarth works in the NHS at Kingston Hospital where she is the lead for contact dermatitis. She is an educational supervisor and regularly involved in teaching dermatology to trainees and medical students and has a PGCE in medical education.

She is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society for Cutaneous Allergy and the European Society of Contact Dermatitis.

Dr Venura Samarasinghe

Dr Ven Samarasinghe is a consultant dermatologist, dermatological surgeon and dermatological lead for skin cancer.

He qualified from the University of Manchester in 2002 and undertook dermatology specialist training in the Northwest of England Dermatology program.

On joining the national specialist register for Dermatology in 2012, Dr Samarasinghe completed a further one-year fellowship in Mohs’ micrographic and dermatological surgery at St John's Institute of Dermatology, London.

Dr Samarasinghe has completed multiple international scientific trials on skin cancer. He has lectured nationally and internationally on skin cancer, skin surgery and dermatology for which he has received awards. He has also published widely on skin cancer and currently sits on the national joint Dermatology-Plastic Surgery Integrated Fellowship board.

Dr Samarasinghe has special interests in skin screening; skin cancer; skin cancer surgery; general dermatology and benign skin removal.
